At Bay Area Eagles Volleyball Club, we believe in providing a nurturing and supportive atmosphere for our Bay Area athletes, where they can develop the fundamental skills in the sport of volleyball while experiencing personal growth, leadership opportunity and teamwork. What differentiates us from other clubs in Bay Area is our supportive and family style approach, focusing on love of the game, appreciating the wins while learning to accept defeat. Throughout our practices and tournaments, we strive to highlight life lessons learned with being a part of a competitive team sport which are instrumental in developing not only strong and competitive athletes but also producing well-rounded athletes with excellent sportsmanship and attributes like grit, discipline, focus, strong work ethic and respect that they can carry with them throughout their lives.

It is our mission to ensure that we provide an inclusive environment where friendships are formed and where athletes feel safe, nurtured and have a sense of belonging. Our Team

Our staff is comprised of passionate individuals who not only have extensive experience in volleyball but are genuinely authentic, family-oriented, and caring individuals who care about each of our athletes mental and physical health and well-being. Our club owner and head coach, Oliver Dofiles, has a strong reputation and consistent track record in ensuring that each young athlete is reaching their full potential at their own individual pace while promoting positive, inclusive and encouraging environment which are instrumental to achieve team and individual goals.

Oliver Dofiles

Versatile Volleyball Coach who can coach girls and boy’s indoor volleyball teams. Adept at helping players to reach the highest levels of the sport developing training regimens that match players’ abilities and creating strong competitive teams. Specializes in coaching for competitions both large and small.

Camille Dofiles

Camille is 3rd year College student at Dickinson College double majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She was a recruited NCAA Division III Setter. In her first year at Dickinson, she was name in the All-Centennial Conference team and led the team to qualify for the Centennial Conference Championship for the first time since 2008. In her Sophomore year, she recorded her 1000 career assists and made it to her school record book as 5th in the college history for achieving 56 career high assists in a single match. Currently, her Junior year, she recorded her 500 career digs mid-season.

Prior to her college career, Camille played 9 years of club volleyball playing for Club Kalani, SF Tremors, UC Elite and Vision volleyball clubs and trained in the Team USA Volleyball in the Future Select Pipeline (2017, 2018). She attended and played at James Logan High School (4 year Varsity player) where she helped the Colts to four MVAL Championships (2018-2021) and one NCS title during the 2018 season. She was named Second Team All-MVAL in 2019, before capturing the MVAL Most Valuable Player and First Team All-MVAL honors in 2021.

Christopher Dofiles

Christopher is a Ist year College student at Chabot College, planning on majoring in Kinesiology. He attended and played volleyball at James Logan High School and was an impactful player as a 4-year varsity setter. He was name a First Team All-MVAL in 2024 as a Setter. During high school, Chris played 4 years of club volleyball at UC Elite. Prior to high school, he played in competitive travel AAU basketball teams (for 5 years) playing as a point guard for Oakland Rebels, Oakland Soldiers and Eastbay Trailblazers.

Mariah Cardenas

Mariah Cardenas played four years of collegiate volleyball as a setter at a private university in Oklahoma. After earning her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, she became the assistant coach for the women’s volleyball team and head coach of the men’s club volleyball program at NCAA Division II Holy Names University in Oakland, California—all while completing her master’s degree in Forensic Psychology.

Cardenas has an extensive background in club volleyball, having coached at Red Rock Volleyball Club for six years and at Pulse Volleyball Club for one year prior. In the summer of 2024, she was invited to coach under Kevin Hambly at the Stanford University volleyball camps.

She is entering her seventh year as the head of the Piedmont High School Volleyball Program. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Cardenas works as a youth advocate, supporting youth in the foster care system.

Jhunel Abellon

Jhunel Abellon started playing with grass volleyball, but then transitioned into indoor where he developed his love for the sport. He joined his high school team as an opposite/outside hitter. Post high school, Jhunel continued to play at open gyms and competed in adult leagues where he would develop as a Setter.

In 2015 to 2018, he would begin his first coaching position as the Head Coach of Oakland Military Institute’s Co-ed Middle School team. Jhunel would stay with the Grizzlies for four seasons, and would defend their record undefeated record. Along with coaching middle school, Jhunel would become the Assistant Coach for One Volleyball Club in Alameda for three seasons. He would assist the team by helping them defend their Gold Division status in the Premier League during his second year of 2017.

In 2018 Jhunel would assist in the development of Skyline High School's inaugural men's volleyball team. Coach Abellon would join the coaching staff at Red Rock East Bay Volleyball club in 2019 as the Assistant Coach for the 15-1s Team.

The summer of 2019 Jhunel would coach and develop Red Rock East Bay's fledgling Beach program, where he guided various pairs to playoffs in the CBVA league. Coach Jhunel still enjoys playing volleyball at the competitive level in multiple leagues and open gyms.

Jhunel currently coaches for his alma mater at Encinal High School as the Head Junior Varsity Coach from 2016 to the present day. In 2025, Jhunel joined the Bay Area Eagles as a Head Coach.

Outside of volleyball, Coach Abellon is currently a Private Event Manager at The HUB Alameda Pickleball. He enjoys working out weekly, as he believes in an active lifestyle. Jhunel loves to spend time with family and friends over some boba milk tea.
